iSession '09: Covered In the Dust

At last! My first iSession post. In the midst of looking for sounds for a different song, I came across some that I really liked, but didn't necessarily want to use for that song. So, I tried them with Covered, a song that I had written a few years ago, and absolutely loved it! My wife misses one of the sounds of the original version, so I'm currently trying to incorporate it into the new one. I plan to have rough instrumentals of both the original and the new sometime this afternoon. I just couldn't wait till then to post, hence you have this little ditty. I'm merely whetting your appetite for more. Stay tuned!

A Time of Immersion

Seasons change. Wisdom grows. Philosophies evolve. Passions intensify. God remains the same. Music reflects it all.

Our music and our ministry will be taking a bath next month. God has orchestrated events that will allow us to immerse ourselves in Him and our music. So, in February, I will work at the radio station in the mornings, return in the late afternoons for an hour or two, and have several hours a day in which to spend with Messiah and music. We expect great things to come from this time of immersion.

My earthly goals:
  • gain a clearer understanding about our ministry
  • finish recording existing songs
  • write, record, and produce new songs
  • set a CD release date
  • connect with God and Bridget in new and fresh ways

Those are just a few of my earthly goals that I can come up with right away. I'm sure God has his own idea for this intensive time together.

God's goals?:

  • reveal himself in greater ways
  • grant wisdom and understanding concerning our ministry
  • draw us closer to him

I'm not going to pretend to speak or think for God, but those are a few things I can feasibly see him doing. I'm sure he's got grand plans for this season, and I can't wait.

So, we'll call this the Pre Immersing Period. I shall attempt to keep you updated as the Immersing continues throughout the month, and then I will hopefully have a lot to tell after this time of immersion. Also, we'll hopefully have a lot of great music to show for it. Be encouraged.

God Is (update #2)

I've posted the video from Sunday, Jan. 11th, on my YouTube channel. The video can be seen on the left-hand side of this page. No, this is not the official video for the song; that will come later. As soon as Spielberg offers to direct and produce. Enjoy!

God Is (update)

The live version of "God Is" is now posted over on Babione 6. Enjoy!

God Is

Amazing! Bridge wrote this song using the children's ministry curriculum from ACF and I put the music with it. This past Sunday (01/11/09), Bridge, the older two boys, and I sang the song for the offering special. Look for the video to be posted on Babione 6 soon. For now, enjoy the studio recording we did. This will more than likely make the Begin album.

words:

"God Is" (by Bridget Babione)

God is loving
He loves me
God is omniscient
He knows everything
God is omnipotent
He’s all powerful
God is sovereign
He is in control

Chorus
God is my everything
God is the reason I sing
God is my everything
God is the reason I sing

God is omnipresent
He is everywhere
God is just
He is always fair
God is Holy
He is completely pure
God is immutable
Never changes, that’s sure

Chorus

God sent his only son
To die for my sins, the battle He won
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life
We walk by faith and not by sight

Chorus

God is eternal
The beginning and the end
God is God
The great I Am

Praise the King

While this song will not be on the official CD (due out in '09), it will be included in an information packet that we will send out to churches and organizations regarding our services. If you or your church would like to bring us in for a Kingdom Crossing, please comment or shoot us an email. Have your people call my people, and we'll do lunch.

Our April Sound friends should remember this song. (hopefully with fond memories)
