God Is

Amazing! Bridge wrote this song using the children's ministry curriculum from ACF and I put the music with it. This past Sunday (01/11/09), Bridge, the older two boys, and I sang the song for the offering special. Look for the video to be posted on Babione 6 soon. For now, enjoy the studio recording we did. This will more than likely make the Begin album.

words:

"God Is" (by Bridget Babione)

God is loving
He loves me
God is omniscient
He knows everything
God is omnipotent
He’s all powerful
God is sovereign
He is in control

Chorus
God is my everything
God is the reason I sing
God is my everything
God is the reason I sing

God is omnipresent
He is everywhere
God is just
He is always fair
God is Holy
He is completely pure
God is immutable
Never changes, that’s sure

Chorus

God sent his only son
To die for my sins, the battle He won
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life
We walk by faith and not by sight

Chorus

God is eternal
The beginning and the end
God is God
The great I Am

Praise the King

While this song will not be on the official CD (due out in '09), it will be included in an information packet that we will send out to churches and organizations regarding our services. If you or your church would like to bring us in for a Kingdom Crossing, please comment or shoot us an email. Have your people call my people, and we'll do lunch.

Our April Sound friends should remember this song. (hopefully with fond memories)

Talk Is Cheap

talk is cheap
so they say
when we keep
our own way
and not do
what we preach
and be too
glad to teach
hurt a friend
thought not meant
in the end
price was spent
oh that's when
find as such
talk can then
cost too much

Redeem the Day v 2.0

"Pobias" and I wrote this song while at the men's retreat. We then sang it the next Sunday. Here is the recording of that Sunday. Note: I am not singing as loudly as Poby, and my microphone isn't turned up as loud, either. So, Poby is loud, and I am not. Another note: the song is written as a Kingdom song. That simply means that gender is a non issue. When we say, "man" or "son", women can sing that, too. When we talk about being the "bride of Christ", men can say that, too. In the Kingdom, we are all one gender.

the words:

Orphans all, here the Father's call
to be sons of destiny
An open door to so much more
beyond our history

Here I am; I am just a man
come and speak to me
Lead me on to be a son
who carries forth Your glory

Redeem the day! Redeem the day!
Your people pray, "Redeem the day!"

In all the earth, we find our worth
in the heart of the Father
By His hand we claim the land
as His sons and daughters

Your Kingdom come; Your will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven

A Family Poem

I have a little, 3 bedroom house
With a dog, a girl, 3 boys and a spouse.
We keep the dog outside
Where she likes to bark at all she can find.
But the dog is lame when it comes to sound
When compared with others that are around.
The girl likes to scream and giggle;
Oh, the sight when she starts to wriggle!
Music can really make her go,
And when she dances, she puts on a show!
The boys are older and far more advanced,
But still get grins when they start to dance.
And, oh, the symphony of noise
That comes from a girl and 3 boys!
It's quite a sound you can't ignore,
Even when you close the door.
But when it comes time for bed,
And I get to kiss each little head,
The joy of my family
Resounds throughout eternity!
At last, a word about my spouse:
She is the sweetest sound in all the house!

Sounds From the Batcave

Well, this is a test. Below are a remixed version of a song called "Forever Is Your Reign" that Bridge and I wrote a couple of years ago, and a sketch of "A Vision Song". If the video thing works, then you can expect to hear more sounds from the batcave. The words for "Forever" are below:

Here are we, once again
gathered in your name
We're here to sing, once again
praises to your name

we lift your name on high
we lift your name on high

Worthy are You, Lord
Mighty is your name
Holy is your word
Forever is your reign

Now the sketch for "A Vision Song"

A Vision Song

Oh, God, be the voice of a
scattered generation
waiting on your spirit to move
Oh, God, fill our hearts with a
current revelation
of how to show the world your love

And we sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!
Alleluia to the Lamb!"

Oh, God, to your throne, help us
lead our generation
yearning for your spirit to move
Oh, God, fill our hearts with the
joy of celebration
as we show the world your love

And we sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!
Alleluia to the Lamb!"

We cry, "Holy! Holy! Holy!
is the Lord, God Almighty!
Worthy is the Lamb of praise!"
We cry, "Holy! Holy! Holy!"
is the Lord, God Almighty!"
With lifted hands and voices raised
Cry out, "Holy! Holy! Holy!
is the Lord God Almighty!
Worthy is the Lamb of praise!"
We cry, "Holy! Holy! Holy!
is the Lord, God Almighty!
Worthy is the Lamb of praise!"

Oh, God, be the voice of this
chosen generation
ready for your spirit to move
Oh, God, send us out ready to
take back every nation
as we show the world your love

And we sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!
Alleluia to the Lamb!"

And we sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!"
We sing, "Alle, Alleluia!
Alleluia to the Lamb!"

A Poem

Written on my last day at KVWC radio in Vernon, TX, on December 18, 2007. My shift was over, and I was waiting for the next guy to show up. It was around six in the evening.

As the sun sets on another day
So it does on the old way
If with dawn comes morning bright
Then we shall chase God's new light
If tomorrow brings a darkened sky
Then we shall trust that God is nigh
For it matters not what the day may bring
God is on his throne, the reigning king

"Meet with me..."

What?
"Meet with me."
When? Now? In the morning?
"Both."
Really?
"Meet with me."

I heard it plain as day. At 11:15 at night. My alarm goes off at 4 in the morning. I have to be at work sometime between 5:30 and 6. 11:15 is late. I know that 10:15 is only an hour earlier, but 11:15 is late. "Meet with me."

OK.
Matt. 19:26. Nothing.
Mark 6:4-6. Nothing.
Lord, I don't know what You want from me right now. Nothing's making any sense.
"Write me a song."
It's late.
"Write me a song."
About what? What kind of song?
"Write me a song."

Anybody else notice I'm not the only stubborn one here? I pull down my guitar.

Give me the words, Lord.
You made the stars....that twinkle....that shine....that burn at night...so bright.
Give me the chords, Lord. Please. Give me the music.
You made this heart...that beats for You...so true...for You...

An hour later:

You made the stars
that burn at night, so bright
You made this heart
that beats for You, for You
You made the wind
that blows through the trees, gentle breeze
You made this soul
that basks in Your glory, Your glory

Your Glory shines brighter than the sun
You're the Holy One
Who was, and is, and is to come
You're the Holy One
The Holy One

You made the seas
that crash into shore, hear them roar
You made these hands
that clap for You, it's all for You
You made the men
who crucified Your son, Your only son
You made Your son
who comes in Your glory, Your glory

Your Glory shines brighter than the sun
You're the Holy One
Who was, and is, and is to come
You're the Holy One
The Holy One

I did not make the morning meeting. I'm sorry, Lord. I will make tomorrow's. Grant me grace to do so. Meet with me.

Redeem the Day

Wars around the world;
hungry boys and girls;
they seem so far away;
oh, redeem the day. Redeem the day.

Homeless on the streets;
we ignore the least;
we just look the other way;
oh, redeem the day. Redeem the day.

You are Justice; You are Truth.
We are fallen far from You.
Christ Redeemer, hear us pray,
"Come, redeem the day. Redeem the day."

Words that are meant to hurt
and rob our neighbor's worth
we find easy to say
oh, redeem the day. Redeem the day.

Corruption is all around;
lies and deceit abound;
this just can't be the way,
oh, redeem the day. Redeem the day!

You are Justice; You are Truth.
We are fallen far from You.
Christ Redeemer, hear us pray,
"Come, redeem the day! Redeem the day!"

Hear Your people's cry;
we will not be denied.
Save us from decay
oh, redeem the day! Redeem the day!

Ignite our hope again
as we turn away from sin
help us lead the way
to redeem the day! Redeem the day!

You are Justice; You are Truth.
We are agents sent by You.
Holy Spirit, help us obey,
and redeem the day! Redeem the day!
